Ed Sheeran is back and he's got new music coming and, also, he is still very adorable.

The singer hasn't released an album since June 2014 or a single since June 2015 though he's still managed to stay busy making time for fans and making headlines for returning to social media for the first time in a year.

But he saved his best surprise for the wee hours of New Year's Day by posting a short video on Twitter announcing new music is coming on Friday.

Nothing else is known about what Sheeran will release upon the world on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017. Will it be a new single or will he pull a Beyonce and drop a whole album? No one knows, but that's okay because the mystery is part of the fun.

One thing is confirmed, though, and that is that fans are very, very, very happy to have Sheeran back in their lives.
