In the light of the tragic events in Charlottesville, the parents of Heather Heyer have offered a rare example of dignity and defiance in the face of their daughter's violent death.

Rowling shared the video of Heather's mother, Susan Bro, as she addresses 1,200 people that gathered to mourn the 32-year-old woman at the Paramount Theater in downtown Charlottesville, Virginia.

“I’d rather have my child,” Bro said. "But by golly, if I’ve got give her up, we’re going to make it count.”
Bro also called on the crowd to honour the memory of her daughter by channeling "anger into righteous action."
“I want this to spread, I don’t want this to die. This is just the beginning of Heather’s legacy. This is not the end of her legacy.”
Rowling shared the tweet saying: "God bless this brave family. RIP"
Heyer was killed in a terror attack allegedly carried out by white nationalist James Fields, who ploughed his car into a crowd of anti-fascist protesters.
